People often ask about my equipment. I use the benefits of both analog and digital to be able to get most of each track. But in the end it’s all about what sounds the best, not whether it’s digital or analog…
For gentle analog eq and compression I use equipment from Manley, Neve, Crane Song, Knif, API, Charter Oak, and Dangerous Music. All of these impart a slightly different sound that is difficult to achieve digitally.
For digital accuracy in spectral editing and conversion I use Lavry, Dangerous Music, Universal Audio, Wavelab, ProTools and Brainworx, among others. For monitoring I use equipment from Barefoot Sound from Portland, OR and the Danish company, Dynaudio.
